To make a booking, a deposit must be paid to secure the date. The deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation and will be retained as compensation for loss of income. If the wedding is postponed to another date that I’m available for, the deposit can be carried over to the new date. If the event goes ahead, the deposit shall come off the total bill which must be paid 4 weeks before the date of the wedding.
An engagement shoot is subject to availability. I will make every endeavour to contact you within the given time frame to arrange it but if you continue to be unavailable and an engagement shoot cannot be scheduled, you will not receive compensation or a deduction in costs.
Local travel costs are included in the quoted fee but I reserve the right to charge for fuel and accommodation if required, subject to the location of the engagement shoot and wedding. I will make this clear at the outset.
I require your finalised schedule and list of group photos (10-12 groups max) with your final payment 4 weeks before your wedding date. I will review the schedule and contact you if I think it needs amending.
Typically, I arrive and spend up to 2 hours with the bridal or wedding party before departing for the ceremony venue. The rest of the wedding party will have their photos taken at the ceremony venue to minimise confusion, stress and logistical issues. I will be onsite at the ceremony venue an hour before the ceremony is scheduled to begin.
I will be with you throughout the course of your day but will take a break during your wedding breakfast or main meal. I require a main meal (as will my second photographer) and for it to be served during the wedding breakfast in reasonable time to allow me to be on hand once your meal has finished. My time of departure will be approximately 10pm unless stated otherwise.
I reserve the right to use substitute photographers if necessary and without notice (e.g. due to sickness or injury). I will personally bear the cost of all expenses incurred by them during the wedding.
If I have to cancel my services for reasons beyond my control (death, injury, sickness), my liability shall be limited to a full refund of all monies paid.
Other people may take photos at your wedding and reception but I cannot be held responsible for unusable photos due to distractions from your guests (e.g. eyes closed, looking away) and other circumstances beyond my control. Your couple photos will be carried out alone with me (without guests) to allow you time to relax and focus on each other.
I will make every effort to provide a high quality photographic service. In the very, very unlikely event that a catastrophic mechanical failure should occur to my equipment or transport and I am unable to provide you with the agreed services, my liability shall remain limited to a full refund of all monies paid. I will have replacement kit with me and have up to date public liability and equipment insurance.
I will let you share, email, upload and print your photos without restrictions of watermarks and in any way you wish. I reserve the right to use photos that I have taken at your wedding for marketing and advertising purposes which may include publications on websites and blogs, entry for awards and competitions, features in magazines, websites and other social media. Any re-sale or re- editing of any images is strictly prohibited.
Any photos taken by Benjamin Stuart Photography which are uploaded or posted online or included in any other media must be credited to Benjamin Stuart Photography.
These terms must be agreed to in order for a booking to proceed.
I will assume you are satisfied with these terms if a deposit has been paid.
